Speakers shared their knowledge of this Prairie Lakes area and how they work “Together to Achieve Clean Water”. Topics were interesting and varied! Many saw things for the first time. This Slake test was one of the most talked about demonstrations of the two days! The jar on the left contains soil that has been tilled consistently, destroying the soil health. The jar on the right contains soil that has been no-tilled for 10 years. There were speakers from the public and private sector. Many who were on the planning committee worked for nearly an entire year to bring this conference together. The break-out sessions were well attended. Mark your calendars now for next year’s conference on August 9, 10, and 11. The Blue Water Festival will be August 12. Nationally and internationally recognized speakers presented the latest findings. We didn’t just talk about water quality, we talked about the human dimension as well. Next year’s conference is going to be even better than this year. Mark your calendar. A terrific turnout for our first conference!
